ABOUT EAST SEMINOLE COUNTY VFW POST 10139
VFW Post 10139 was chartered on January 25, 1981, as Oviedo VFW Post 10139 and was originally located on West Broadway, in Oviedo, Florida. In the late eighties, the post was relocated to Chuluota, Florida. In May 2014, the post changed its name to East Seminole County VFW Post 10139, which better reflected the service area. The area includes Chuluota, Oviedo, Geneva, Eastern Orange County and Eastern Seminole County.

OUR BUILDING HISTORY
The Chuluota School, established in 1898, was a one-room wooden schoolhouse. Then, in 1925, a modern elementary school was built, though that school also eventually closed in June 1948. After the original Chuluota school house closed in 1925, the building was used as the Chuluota volunteer fire station until the building was acquired by VFW Post 10139 in 2014.

The post endeavors to foster camaraderie among United States veterans of overseas conflicts; to serve our veterans, the military, and our communities; to advocate on behalf of all veterans; and to ensure all veterans are respected for their service, receive their earned entitlements, and are recognized for the sacrifices they and their loved ones have made on behalf of this great country.
